"Food for Thought" |
There seems to be an underlying unwritten stereotyping of humans by their skin tones to certain cultural aspects that may or may not identify or associate to them, and or even be true. With black Americans, they can be linked to foods such as fried chicken, watermelon, kool-aid or to negative actions such as gun violence. However, regardless of there being different countries in Asia, anyone with “Asian” characteristics may be grouped together in clumps. Chinese, Korea, and Japanese are grouped together due to not being able to differentiate features in order to distinguish the ethnicities apart. This same group can be linked to an association of eating dog or being a math genius. A lot of these assumptions can be due to the media outlets shaping and enhancing certain qualities of these ethnic groups. There is also blame to placed upon older generations by the way they view other "races."
